They want this thing to go viral, however such well produced advertising stuns very rarely go viral online.

Serial tweeter and cougar cub Ashton Kutcher has shown some twitter love to Gotye for Somebody That I Used To Know (feat Kimbra). His exact words were, “This is kinda fantastic. Reminds me of early music vids..” Kutcher has over 7 million followers on twitter - NO DOUBT that Gotye is going blow up even more after this!
Homebake is back with an almost totally Australian lineup. And no, person sitting near me Gurrumul is not from overseas. It is one of the better lineups Homebake has had in recent times though, perhaps due to taking a year off and saving up acts. I am personally most intersted in seeing Icehouse playing a set with just flowers, a part of the plant which is quite hard to make much sound out of.
Check It.
Grinderman, Ladyhawke, Pnau, Gotye, Gurrumul Yunupingu, Cut Copy, RocKwiz (live), Icehouse (playing Flowers), Daniel Merriweather, Eskimo Joe, Drapht, The Triffids, Architecture in Helsinki, The Vines, The Church, The Jezabels, Kimbra, C.W. Stoneking, Hungary Kids of Hungary, Illy, Avalanche City, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Papa Vs Pretty, Killaqueenz, Kids of 88, Passenger, Noah Taylor and The Sloppy Boys (Ed Clayton-Jones from The Wreckery and Cec Condon from The Mess Hall), Vents

The first act from the 21st Annual Meredith has been announced Grinderman, fronted by the living personification of sex, drugs and rock’n'roll: Nick Cave. Check ‘em out on Later, with Jools:
Here is a clip from Kanye’s headline spot at Coachella. He absolutely kills it and will no doubt bring his A game for Splendour next week. CAN’T WAIT!
The lineup for this years BIGSOUND music conference has dropped.
Feat. Papa Vs. Pretty, Emma Louise, Jonathan Boulet, Brous, Jinja Safari, Owl Eyes, Belles Will Ring and our boy PLUTO JONZE among others (for full lineup click here) It’ll also host a swag load of bigwig industry speakers. The 3 day festival kicks off on the 7 - 9th September in Fortitude Valley, Brisvegas.
A couple of our friends here are the new residents at Frat House on Wendesdays at the Lansdowne. This will be a night of frivolity and laughter with great music from the likes of Dtrain Disco, Hacky Sack and Friend dj (the shorter half of F.R.I.E.n.D/s Djs). It is free entry and there are cheap drinks etc for the uni kids. Don’t scared of the Lansdowne too people… It is a little different to how you may remember it.

After a 5 years hiatus The Chili Peppers have released the debut single from their highly anticipated upcoming 10th studio album, I’m With You. Titled, The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie, the track manages to captures the trade mark Chili Peppers funk-pop sound with the added bonus of cow bells. Nice.

I think enough time has passed since the nipple-gate disaster of ‘04′ for miss Janet Jackson to bring her tour down under! The youngest Jackson will be touring Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Sydney through October and November. The tour is a result of aussie fans voting through her website as to where she should tour next! To be honest, I think she’s following Oprah’s lead
The shows will display 35 track’s from her Number Ones album (i’m hoping this includes pretty much every track from Velvet Rope - in my opinion one of the best albums to come out of the 90’s!). Of the show Miss Rhythm Nation says, “These concerts will be different to anything I have ever done. I will be up close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work all these years” How lovely!! Tickets go on sale Wednesday August 3rd! Dates and venues below:
Tuesday October 18 - Burswood Theatre, Perth
Saturday October 22 – Festival Theatre, Adelaide
Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 October – Arts Centre, State Theatre, Melbourne
Wednesday November 2 – Convention Theatre, Gold Coast
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November – Opera House, Concert Hall, Sydney

Take a little glance over Kristy Lee Peters’ inventory of accolades and it reads like a bio of a seasoned pro. A title that she is fast growing into, immersing herself in the local music scene for the last ten years with her various side projects and as an established DJ for the last two.
Frequenting the decks of some of the countries’ top venues, she has also collaborated & sung for various international producers and ARIA award winning artists including; Pnau, Infusion & Tonight Only. She has featured and toured on releases for Ministry of Sound and more recently teamed up with local Dj/producer Adam Bozzetto under the Moniker Ennio Lee. With an album well under way, the next step will see the two take to the stage late 2011.
On top of this eclectic list of musical exploits, you can throw in facilitating for the highly respected Heaps Decent initiative; running music workshops around Sydney making it clear to see why KLP has been flagged as one to watch by the industry elites.
Bringing an indie tilt on all that is bounce, dance and new-wave, KLP has got any affair covered, switching it up to deliver a unique and stylish set.
Kristy has just joined the Falcona Agency, who are now taking bookings for Sep-Dec.

So the Beastie Boys have announced that they are working with director Spike Jonze on their music video ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win’ Featuring Santogold. They have previously worked with Jonze for the videos to Sabotage and Sure Shot, this is very exciting. Like their lead video ‘Make Some Noise’ there will be a short and epic length, and will have an action adventure theme staring Beastie Boys as action figures (merchandising opportunity?). Should be out in July, not sure when, but it will definitely be up here as soon as it drops!
